Aashiqui 2 - is a passionate love tale.......

Saw Aashiqui 2 today....excellent movie, obviously it's a love tale full of passion so on the slow burner, but that's understandable. Full of lilting music, haunting tunes, and lyrical songs. The actors are newcomers, grant them that much and Shraddha Kapoor's performance as Aarohi, the aspiring struggling singer makes sense. Rahul Jayker, the established yet struggling singer, (with his alcoholism) is ably played by Aditya Roy Kapoor. As the flame ignites passion and love so it also ignites self destruction. Rahul Jayker is a perfect example of this. Try as he might he can't kick his habit of alcoholism...so he decides to ignite the flame of love in the girl in whom he sees talent....Aarohi. The tale is one of love and passion told in the manner that Mohit Suri could have done....go watch it, enjoy the lyrics but be patient....you can't rush a love tale.....To the team of Aashiqui 2..... I say...a job well done. All it now needs, is you. Cheers!


                                                                             

Aashiqui 2 - the film

Aashiqui 2 is actually quite a cute movie if the promos and songs are anything to go by. Helped along by the cute Shraddha Kapoor and the dashing Aditya Roy Kapoor, the film is already being hotly discussed in film circles. The songs are a craze and are giving stiff competition to the already raging songs of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The film is directed by Mohit Suri and scheduled for release on 26th of April. 

The song 'Tum hi ho' is particularly doing the top rounds of the music charts....Good luck for this film and Cheers!

  

An act so filthy that shamed even God

RAPE .....this four letter word has today become more dreaded than a hydra snake or a poison filled scorpion....

Why is it that the person committing a rape on just about anybody doesn't think twice before going ahead with this heinous crime?

                                                                       

                                                                     

Why is it that in spite of strong laws in place, the perpetrators of this crime don't stop at even one single opportunity to go ahead with the rape?

Don't they see the punishment waiting for them at the other end of the spectrum when the crime is being committed?

Don't they have any iota of humanity left in them before indulging in such beastly behavior such as gang rape; inserting foreign objects into the private parts of a small defenseless five year old girl, who doesn't even know the meaning of the sick act being committed on her.

Is it that the sick mind of the perpetrator of such a dastardly act can only think of the filthy and sadistically hideous pleasure derived by their perverted mind?

Is it that particular moment available to these vile minds, the slightest opportunity available to them, which prompts them to commit the dastardly act of rape, throwing all caution to the wind?

Whatever the reason be, the beastly act committed on the hapless victim is enough to destroy her existence for life.

The very act of defiling a woman's body against her will, and an act so cruel and barbaric such as the act of rape with a small minor girl hardly five years old, is enough to start a revulsion towards the very existence of a male.

So awake all you people who commit all these barbaric acts; do not stoop to such lows in life that your very existence is put to question!

A silent prayer goes out to the Almighty to save the life of this innocent defenseless girl.......may she be pulled out of this horror; this terrible invasion on her body, her soul, her psyche, her very existence.....

Oh God, let her not suffer the terrible consequences of a paralyzed and sickly perverted mind who made her undergo this undeniable horror......

Please 'heal' such persons too who seek to indulge in such pursuits.....

The morning walk ......with love to Snowy

                                                               

                                               

I love writing about my pet, my pooch, my Snowy....
Come early morning and Snowy starts preparing for his morning walk. It starts with him giving me occasional glances with his soft misty eyes....full of expectation.

Reminding me that walking is essential for him and good for me.

He will then head for the drawing room, sniffing his way into the corners of the house....just expressing his longing a bit more. Finally into my bedroom, plonk onto my bed and staring down at my face....repeating the silent words..'Let's go buddy..'

Sometimes mere glances at me lying down will not suffice....then he'll venture to give me an adventurous lick....I'll hide my face in my quilt escaping his licks and tease him a little bit more....smiling all the time.

Finally I get up, and the happiness is apparent on his face....his whole face lights up and with his tongue hanging out...and black eyes glowing at me, he knows it's one step closer to his walk...

I have to give food to my fish too and few other miscellaneous work which takes roughly 10 minutes. All this time Snowy is seated expectantly on one of the chairs in the lobby. In between he alights and comes bounding into my room to inquire what the hell is holding me up?

Inquisitive looks and a few flashy eye stares, sometimes impatient glares, short nippy barks and he rushes back on his anointed place on one of the chairs....

As soon as he sights me coming out in to the drawing room, he leaps with unending happiness and starts jumping up with joy. In his excitement he'll bend on his front legs in excitement, in a playful mood, giving me short sharp barks of joy full of anticipation and playful posture....

Finally both of us are ready for the morning walk and after a few pats and anxious joyful barks we're out in the open, ready to hit the road...... :)

A young life snuffed out - Sudipto Gupta

                                                                         

                                                                         

He was a young innocent boy; all but 22 years of age, his face had soft features, the ones reserved for artistes, musicians, actors; God had spent some more time over him while creating him.

His smile was enigmatic, enduring and magical. One look at him and you could see he was a boy just starting to blossom in life. His dreams were taking shape.

His name - Sudipto Gupta, a student leader in the student politics of Kolkata.

How did such an innocent face get into politics; but then not all politics is dirty, and neither are all politicians. 

Sudipto was simply demanding that regular elections be held in the colleges. A right, guaranteed by the Courts. Why wasn't the college willing to hold elections?

Sudipto was the solace to his aged and ailing father who was fond of music. He loved playing the violin and waited till Sudipto was home. After all he wanted to calm him down with the all pervading strains of his violin and make him forget the day's stress and strains. His father knew his son was fighting for a cause, fighting for what is right. He didn't interfere in his son's activities. He only wished him well in life. If his son had a life in politics, so be it.

He would start his violin after the meals were over. Sudipto would come in his room and lie down at his feet. He would then start the strains of the violin Sudipto so liked to hear. Sometimes he would just doze away in his father's room listening to the haunting music. 

Today he felt slightly uneasy. Sudipto had told him about the student agitation picking up force. How the authorities were opposed to the call for college elections. He had to lead a march today in the streets of Kolkata protesting vehemently and demanding their right to hold free and fair elections in the colleges.

He told Sudipto to be careful as he watched him leave the house. He was reluctant to send him out today, but as Sudipto told him if he didn't go, who would lead?

His frail looking father stood at the door watching the slim and diminutive frame of his son leave for the college. Suddenly Sudipto looked back at his father and smiled. With a flourish he waved his hand and turned away from him. Perhaps never to return back to him.

His father got the shocking news in the afternoon. His son Sudipo was no more. The world seemed to stop for him, and his brain went numb. All he could do was to lift up his frail hands in the air and looking up towards heaven let out a cry, bidding his son a tearful goodbye.

'Who will now listen to the violin, my son? was all he could lament and wail again and again.

Nobody seemed to care; his only companion, his dream had been cruelly snatched away........

Obituary : I didn't know Sudipto Gupta......but his untimely death, his innocent face, his enigmatic smile and above all his grieving father have left an inedible mark on me.....This is the least I could do for him..........R.I.P.
